Walks of Life prayers celebrate vocation in all settings of life and work. This prayer is a remix of For Church Musicians and Artists (with a guest appearance from Psalm 90).

Creator and Sanctifier, Most Holy and Most High:

You laid down form and color to structure our perception of creation.
You energized movement and stillness as a means to dwell within us.
You sang forth rhythm and melody to animate our responses to your love.

Inspire those seekers and servants who make art of all kinds to honor your image. Join our doodles and our oeuvres to the revels of your saints in light.

Help us to celebrate that the beautiful can be trustworthy. Help us to know that the imperfect can be whole.

Prosper the work of our hands, and hearts. Prosper our handiwork.

Amen.

Original prayer (CC0):

17. For Church Musicians and Artists

O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
